I remember so clearly why I became an entrepreneur: I wanted to improve the world.
The feeling was so strong within my heart that I had no doubt my purpose on this earth was to help others and make the world a better place.
However, when you are young with such a big purpose yet limited knowledge and resources, it can be easy to get overwhelmed. I was probably not much older than twenty when I hit the wall for the first time. The yearning to make an impact was so strong in my body, mind, and soul that I literally broke down because I couldn’t, for the life of me, figure out how to make my vision become a reality.
After a lot of soul searching, book reading, and conversations with interesting people over cups of coffee, I realized I could continue pursuing my dream, but I would have to split it into smaller pieces and focus on only one thing at a time.
The fact that we all have within ourselves the possibility to impact the lives of every individual on this earth is an amazing fact. But fulfilling that potential takes a lot of work and dedication, and even if we work towards it our whole lives, there is no guarantee.
To this day, I am still chasing my dream, but it is hard work, and every so often I must remind myself why I am doing what I am doing.
