Two days ago, I had an epiphany.
For as long as I can remember, my goal has been to build a “successful” company. In my mind, that meant a huge office filled with hundreds of employees, investors lining up to throw money at us, thousands of customers, massive revenue, and all the extravagances that come with building something big.
But then I stopped and asked myself: Why did I start a company in the first place?
The truth hit me—I didn’t become an entrepreneur to build a giant company. I became an entrepreneur to create steady income for myself. I wanted freedom.
Freedom from the 9-to-5 grind.
Freedom to be creative.
Freedom to travel the world.
Freedom to slow down and be lazy if I feel like it.
To me, real success means having enough income to sustain a good lifestyle, being able to work from anywhere in the world, and having enough free time to actually enjoy life.
In a single moment, everything changed. Now, I’m rethinking what success really means for me.
